Wedding Bells II

So, the wedding was nice and sweet. It was lovely. The bride and groom looked great and so did the rest of the party. Everything started on time which was great. My husband, my BFF, and I thought that we were late and were rushing. We just knew that the wedding started at 4pm (which I stated on the previous blog), and it really started at 430. Well, I guess she knew what she was doing when she said it starts at 4. She knew it would be on CPT.(lol). Any who- pictures will come up by the end of the week. Again, I am truly happy for my friends and wish them a long, happy, prosperous, and blessed life together. I love y'all! The new Mr. and Mrs. Titus and Tiffany Ross.

(just so happens that both names are TR) :)

High School Students

I just don't seem to understand what it about high school students these days. I know that my parents did not play when it came to my behavior and class work. My parents actually came to see about my grades and how I was doing in class. Not to try and get a cell phone back that they teacher took up because the student decided that texting their friends was more important than paying attention in their classes.

They come to school looking like, who did it and what for. Then they don't go to their classes. Decided that the lunch on campus is not good enough and leave campus for lunch, when they are not suppose to. Then, when they get caught, they wonder why they have to suffer the consequences. Most of the time, ending up in In-House suspension because the either the principles do not want to deal with them, don't have time, or just somewhere for them to go. The most students that I have had in one room, is a room of 30 students. Students that have been skipping classes, disrespectful in those classes, leaving campus, eating in class, using electronics, and any other thing that they are not supposed to be doing.

So they wonder why they are failing in their classes and why mom and dad are upset about it.

Because, you don't go to class. When you do, your not paying attention and wonder why the teacher wants to send you out of their classroom. Parents allow their children to have cell phones, but they break the rules about no cell phone use in the classroom. Then the parent and the child wonders why their cellphone was taken up and wants to yell at the teacher about it.

Oh no! Please don't do that! My motto is, "I don't play with children". If you are old enough to understand the words that are coming out of my mouth, you are old enough for me to put you out of my classroom and administer the correct discipline that your actions deserve. Then the parent wants to tell you that you should respect their child, when its their child who obviously doesn't have respect for their own parents. If you don't teach your child and enforce it, then how will they know how to conduct themselves in the world with everyone else.

Now, I am not a direct parent. I have two step-children that I do discipline when they are with my husband and I. They understand what the rules and regulations are of our household and what will happen if they do not follow those rules. But if you just let your child run over you and tell you what they are not going to do, then you have a big problem on your hands.

I have a big issue with part-time, drop off parents. I say part-time because of the parents that only want to see their children when it is convenient for them. I'm not talking about the ones that actually work a job and provide for their child, even if they don't have the child. I am talking about the ones that are just plan lazy. The one's that would rather have their hair done or a new pair of sneakers that cost well over $100, before they will see about their own child. And the child may not even have on a pair of shoes or any that cost that much.

So why let your child suffer because you want to be selfish? Better yet, why let your child run your life and tel l you where they are going and what they are going to do? You are the parent and they are the child. If you provide the discipline that they are suppose to have when they are younger, they will know the consequences of their actions later. If you start late and just think that they are going through a phase, then it will end up wrong. By the time you start, you become scared of your own child.

Now, I am sure that some people say that I have to a lot to say for someone who does not have kids of their own. But, I have learned alot through many years of watching and doing. So I may not have all of the answers. But then, who does. I doubt it if your doctor hands you a "How To" book as soon as the baby comes out. Do they?

Work environment

Do you really feel offended when your at work and you speak to someone and they give you that go to hell look? How about when the vibe in the room is so cold and the tension is so thick you can cut it with a knife? Are you comfortable in that environment? I know I'm not. I swear, there are so many rats in this rat hole that I am in, that it would not be a surprise if people started leaving this job.

Somethings are better unsaid and done. People talk behind others backs. Granted, this could be at any job, but this is ridiculous. I have never seen so many people stab each other in the back for no reason. I had someone come and tell me that someone else came and told me that I must not like that person because I didn't speak to them. What in the hell is that?? Just because I don't speak to you is suppose to mean that I don't like you? How about because I don't know you like that or just choose not to say anything and keep my own trap shut. I would rather stay out of the way of people and not be in the middle of drama and issues. Hey, I have enough issues of my own and these at work, I don't need.

As my husband says, I am not here to make friends, just to work.

My first time

Well, this is my first time blogging. I imagine I will get the hang of it. Most things that you might see in the future are pics of my husbands band. Yeah, he's a band director and I love him. :) Any tips, let me know. Thanks.
